"Everyone's Fine"

We rented this movie last night and it was SO good. Oh man did I cry through the ENTIRE movie. Jackson even shed some tears! It is definitely worthy of a trip to your local Redbox. I mean it. Run. Do not walk. See this movie.

Tonight we went to Target to buy "The Blind Side" and it was sold out. Boo. I cheered up, however, when I walked by the infant section and saw these onesies! They were made for me to send to Alex- I just know it. No, my sister is not having 4 babies. I decided that since these little numbers were so darned cute that Alex needed 1 in each size. I got him NB, 3 month, 6 month and 9 month sizes. He can love his Aunt Jenna for a looooong time. :):) (Jackson says I can only guarantee that he'll like me until he can talk and then he could say otherwise. Hmp!)

Anyway, I am pretty excited to get Alex's little package on the way to him. I think the Denver branch of the USPS is about sick of me mailing things. :)

New Stools

We finally decided to sell my beloved dining table and chairs because we do not have room for it and our storage unit was getting unmanageable. We were able to sell my set on Craigslist and buy 3 new stools with some cash left over. Awesome!

I'm sitting on one of the stools now. We even ate dinner at the bar tonight. This is awesome. We like it so much better. And it makes the place look bigger- which is always nice when you only have 800 or so square feet. :):)

Wednesday morning Jackson was nice enough to drive me to work since it looked like this outside. Arg!! I'm SO over the snow now, Denver. Take note, please.

Less than 3 weeks until tax season is over. Woot. :)

Presents in the mail!

MacKenzie got TWO more packages in the mail this week. She got a perfect pink ball from Grandma Duck. It has quickly become her favorite and she runs for it as soon as she gets out of her cage. Thanks, Mom!!!

To top it all off, today we got a package from Grammy (Grandma Petefish). She sent us some goodies from Crate & Barrel (my fav!) and Easter candy. MacKenzie got a new toy. This is her bringing it to us to play with her. Thanks, Susie!

Yes, Butler- Indianapolis' hometown team- is in the FINAL FOUR that is taking place in INDIANAPOLIS. Oh how I wish that we could go. I wish. I wish!

GO BUTLER

We were very excited to cheer on Indianapolis' Butler Bulldogs to a victory tonight and a spot in the NCAA tournament's Elite 8! Woot!

Jackson is trying to get a trip to Salt Lake City on the books for Saturday. I'm not so sure.

It sure was a fun game, though. I watched it update from class and it was all I could do not to scream when it was over.

I love March Madness. :)

Spring Storm

I'm certain you're sick of reading about our spring snowstorms by now. I'm sick of living through them. I guess we're even.

I went to class tonight in the rain and came home in a blizzard. The interstate was a mess! I made it all the way home before getting stuck in our parking lot trying to get into the garage. Thankfully a kind neighbor helped Jackson push me in. NO FUN!!!!

Boomer

"Which one to play with first?!"

Last night, I checked the mail to find a present for MacKenzie from her "boyfriend" Boomer. He lives across the street from Grammy in Indy and they've become fast friends. Well Boomer was nice enough to send MacKenzie TWO new balls! A pink ball- yay!- and a basketball to celebrate March Madness. She loved it! He also sent her this sweet little note. Oh I loved it! :)

March Madness

March is one of my favorite months of the year. Why? Mainly because with March comes MARCH MADNESS!!! I loooooove the NCAA men's basketball tournament. There is no better sporting event, let's be honest here. It makes my heart happy to watch nothing but basketball. I also love winning in my brackets, but thanks to Georgetown (marking them off my law school list now!), that won't happen this year. Arg. (Danielle, I hope this helps explains what "march madness" is. You're so funny.)

As you saw from all of the videos we have gotten some serious snow here in Denver. It took me over an hour to get from my office to Jackson's and home. It should take 10 minutes. Jackson was kind enough to let me ride along with him in the FJ Cruiser today so that my pretty little convertible didn't have to get out in the snow. I love that man.

I got my final exam grades back: an "A" and a "B." I'd prefer to have 2 "A's" but I'll take. I have one final quarter with two classes and then my graduate student career is in the books. Oh that will feel so good!

We're pretty much snowed in this weekend, but since the tournament is on, we do not care. :):)

Homesick.

I've gotten much better about getting homesick over the years. I, quite frankly, rarely miss home anymore. Mainly because being away makes it so much more exciting to go home and I know if I were there everyday I'd be bored. Anyway, that mother of mine knows just how to get me. I'm a little stressed at work and yesterday this photo chimes through on my iPhone with a note reading, "no one will play with me :(" Ugh! How dare she send me the one photo that instantly makes my heart smile and my eyes well with tears all at once? So, at 25 years of age I sat at my desk (with my door shut, thank the Lord!) and cried my eyes out because I wanted to go HOME! You see, home is not a singular place to me- it's wherever Madison is! I'm not sure how I got this attachment to that little dog, but I love her so much it hurts.

So, thanks Mom for the photo. It made my day- after I pulled myself together. I hope people don't mind tear-stained tax returns this year! ;)

We're back!

Whew. Ok. This week was probably the worst of my life. Let's just be honest here. I was swamped at work and had two 3 hour finals. Arf! But that is now all behind me and it should be smooth (busy) sailing from now until April 15th.

Speaking of April 15th, that night we're catching the red eye to Boston! :) Woo hoo! (I cannot remember if I have blogged about this before or not so stick with me here. Again, I had a long week.) Anyway, on April 16th, I have a tour/interview scheduled with UConn's law school. I'm pretty excited to see the place and see if that's our next stop. (Yes, I will still be lobbing my "Hail Mary" pass to Yale for acceptance, but I also live in the "real world" so I have to plan accordingly. No worries though, Hartford, CT- UConn's home- is only about 45 minutes from New Haven, CT-Yale's home- so if adjustments are necessary- and I feel certain they won't be- we could do it.)

There are a lot of jobs out there for Jackson. I think he's more excited with the fact that we'd live near enough to the water that we could finally buy him a SAILBOAT! (Side note: Sailboats are expensive. Any donations to Jackson's "sailboat-wish-come-true" fund will be gladly accepted. ;) Shoot, we'd even take you out sailing.) Before anyone worries, MacKenzie loves the water and would always wear a life vest when on board the vessel. Jackson also noticed when he was using Google maps to "walk around" West Hartford (where we'd live) that they have a Moe's Southwest Grill right downtown. Sold! We're so there in about a month! :)

I get excited about multiple things about East Coast living. I'll make a small list so you all will want to relocate, too.
1. The availability of lobster. Fresh. Excellent. Inexpensive.
2. The nearness of Hartford to: New York City
3. The nearness of Hartford to: Boston
4. The nearness of Hartford to: MAINE
5. The nearness of Hartford to: Indiana (Ok, it is not really near Indiana, but closer than Colorado and in the same time zone- a bummer as I like early NFL games.)
6. The cost effectiveness of UConn's evening law school
7. The fact that Jackson would finally get his sailboat
8. The fact that we could go to NYC for Christmas and see the Rockettes without much expense! (Ok, that was a little repetitive from #2, but still. I'm excited.)

I'll end my list there mainly because I have a few other things on my to-do list today.

So we're looking forward to our trip. My boss has been annoying me lately- this whole pregnancy as an excuse to come in late and leave early stinks- so I've already started applying for jobs out there. I'd like to move in mid-July! Jackson is willing to either finish school online- HE GOT AN "A" IN HIS FIRST CLASS!!!!-or transfer to an institution of higher learning in Connecticut. We'll see.

That's a little glimpse of what's been going on around here. A lot of planning, contemplating, etc. but one thing is for sure: we're never bored. :)

I just remembered that I had 2 more photos of Jax on my real camera (not just my iPhone!) so I quickly downloaded them.

Look at how GREAT Heidi looks. Yes, she did JUST have a baby. Yes, I was annoyed, too. Seriously. She'll be back in her size 0 jeans in no time. Arf! (and is Jax not just precious? Oh how I loved that little guy!!) I look a bit pensive. I was nervous. (I also had not showered and had been working for like 36 hours straight so ignore my bad looks- it is tax season, folks.)

Nightmare

The other night I came home to this the other night, my worst nightmare, TOYS everywhere! Jackson left it like this for me so I could see how wild our dog had been.

We are looking for a replacement for this particular ball. It is MacKenzie's favorite and...

a big dog in the neighborhood "accidently" tore a hole in it. It is only a matter of time before it has to go to the trashcan. :( Another nightmare. Seriously. So please, please, please if you're out and about and see a ball (any color) that looks like a 2 1/2 inch golfball- buy it! We'll gladly pay you for it! Thanks!!

New Hair

As the blog admin, I hate to just post photos of myself. I did, however, receive many requests for photos of my "new" hair so here they are.

Jackson says the lighting is off, but it really is a honey blonde and 3 inches shorter! (Jackson calls this my, "hurry up and take the photo face" that I am normally giving to my Mom-so true.)

I love his little hands! He had on these little pants with his shirt tucked in and it reminded me of a little old man. I loved it. :)
I thought his nursery was so cute. Heidi and Andrew did a great job of a. making a cute baby and b. making a really cute nursery. Props to the Porterfields. It was SO good to see you FOUR! (I still love Gunny!) I am so, so, so happy for you.

Quite the weekend!

I went home to Indiana on Friday night to get some work done there. I was able to pop up to Upland for a night and see my 'rents and their pups. I love those dogs. We went to a Bob & Tom comedy show in Wabash. I have never been so embarrassed in my life. Those comedians were raunchy and I was sitting BETWEEN my 'rents. Eek. Anyway, that was a quick trip and then it was back to Indy to prepare tax returns.

Sunday I was able to have lunch with my dear friend Laura. I just love her. She had all kinds of new things going on so it was really fun to see her. From there I went to the Porterfield's house to meet their new baby, Jax. What a sweetie. (I am posting photos of him next so stay tuned.) He was perfect! I thought he looked just like Andrew. Anyway, it reminded me how not prepared Jackson and I are for a baby. Seriously. That's a lot of responsibility. But I LOVED meeting and holding that little guy. He was seriously a doll.

I worked late that night then hung out with Susie. She bought me Girl Scout cookies, too. Yay! It is always nice to catch up with S. Pete (that's what Jackson calls his mother).

I worked all day on Monday and had a quick lunch with my mom. It was nice to talk to her face-to-face instead of on the phone for once! We had Cracker Barrel, but it was not that impressive. Boo.

In exciting news, Jackson had accidently booked my flight for 6:30 a.m. Monday and not :51 p.m. OOPS! I was able to get on the late flight without a charge. Whew. I even treated myself to shrimp cocktail at Harry & Izzy's for my troubles. :) I was at the airport with a lot of football players have the combine. I love that! They're all so giddy about getting into the NFL. Tim Tebow had already left town, though. Bummer.

I'm back in Denver now. I had work and school today- welcome home! I was able to drive to school with my convertible's top down tonight so that was awesome. I am quite ready for spring.

Tomorrow I am cutting my hair (I'm not sure how much) and going blonde. Whoa. :)
