Mr. Alex

My Mom finally sent me some photos from her stay in Newburgh with Baby Alex. Above is the fruit bouqet that I sent to my sister. It looks pretty cute!
I sent Alex these Pooh booties to wear home from the hospital. He did, but they're still a litte big for him. Look at those wrinkly knees!
He looks pretty content sleeping with his pacifier in his mouth,
His nursery has a Pooh theme so I sent him the Pooh doll and Grace got him a "MacKenzie look alike." I'm not sure what the duck is all about. ?
I did not get a feel for how small he was until I saw him next to Guy. WHOA! No wonder he compared holding Alex to holding a box of tissues!

PEE!

My Mom and Guy are on their way to Newburgh because Baby Alex got released from the hospital today. Woo hoo. Anyway, on their way down Madison (pictured above) peed on Guy's lap! He claims she was mad at Mom for making her sit in the backseat on the drive to Indianapolis- before Guy got in the car. I think she knows that there is a new grandson in town and she might now get all of the attention. Not to worry, Madison, you've never been ignored and never will be! :)
My sister sent me this photo of Alex strapped into his seat and his little pacifier in his hand. Look at that little face! Oh, it melts this Aunt's heart. I sent Alex an Edible Arrangement in a Big Bird cup and a balloon. (Jackson reminded me that Alex wouldn't be eating the Edible Arrangement, but so be it.) I laughed because they were out of Elmo cups and had to call me about substituting in Big Bird- I assured the owner that being only a week old, Alex was not picky. I just laughed and laughed at the thought of Alex having a preference already. :) Classic.

One more funny thing from today: I went to pick up Jackson's sweater from the dry cleaners. I looked at my receipt when I got home and the lady had charged me $97.50! Whoa! Expensive cleaning! I called her- she's from China and not great at speaking English- and got it fixed. I always wonder about those people who never look at receipts and never balance their checking accounts-- think how often you could be ripped off!

One Week

in exactly 1 week, Jackson and I will be on a plane headed for Boston. Woot. :)

I just heard about a guy on a flight from Washington, D.C. to Denver who decided to smoke in the bathroom. The air marshals arrested him. I'm going to scout out on my next flight and try to figure out who the air marshal is- I think it will be a good way to pass the time. ;)

Happy Birthday, Kathi

On this day MANY moons ago, MacKenzie's Aunt Kathi was born. All of us here at the Petefish household wish her a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! :):) We love you! :)

Few things

On my mind:

-I don't like when people call it, "jumping on the bandwagon" when you root for a team
a. I'm from INDIANA- I can root for BUTLER
b. I did study there before I decided to get a Masters in Taxation instead of an MBA
c. They're the underdogs- I am not normally an underdog rooter, but come on!
d. I love Brad Stevens- what a class act

-I'm mad at myself because I'm starting to forgive Tiger Woods
a. I know, I'm weak.
b. I really want to go a golf tournament soon while he's still wanting to sign autographs and feel the love.
c. Golf was not the same without Tiger, let's be honest.
d. So be it, I'm a fan.

-My new nephew is just about the cutest thing I've ever seen
a. NO, my "clock" is not ticking.
b. I can love my nephews and niece without wanting my own- for the love, people.
c. I, of course, cannot wait to meet and hold Alex in about 2 weeks. :)
d. I'm also excited to see Grace, Grace's new room in her "new" house (they moved in December 2008 and we haven't seen their place yet- eek!).

-I'm sick of people driving like idiots
a. Your car is one of your most expensive possessions- why do people not care about that?
b. Your vehicle can be a deadly weapon- pay attention
c. I'm all for talking on the phone while driving- if you can multi-task, but texting is just stupid
d. I happen to like my car and don't want paint from yours on it- sue me

-I'm ready for tax season to be history
a. My pregnant boss has decided not to work anymore
b. That's pretty frustrating since she makes all the money
c. I'm ready for a few vacations
d. I'm sick of seeing how wealthy these people are and how little they give away

-Jackson and I went to church on Easter Sunday
a. We had not been to church in a long time
b. We really loved our church in Indy and hadn't found one here that we liked
c. We returned to a church down in Parker and liked it
d. We intend to resume our church going

-I drove home from work today with my convertible's top down.
a. I loved it.
b. I loved it.
c. I loved it.
d. I loved it.

I think that's about all.

Go Butler!

"Mancake"

Jackson was kind enough to wake up this morning and make me blueberry pancakes before I had to go to work (tax season- ugh). This is what he made himself- he called it a "mancake." Classic. :)

Alex has arrived

My new little nephew Alexander Nicholas was born this evening at 6:40 p.m. Central Time. He weighed 5 pounds 7 ounces and was 19 inches long. Mommy and baby are both doing very well. My Mom called me right after the delivery and I got to hear him cry. It was so sweet. I did not cry- people keep asking me that- but boy could you tell the new Grandma was sobbing. We're all pretty excited to welcome to new little guy to the family. I get to meet him in just about 3 weeks. I cannot wait! :)
