Little Ms. Macy (my Mom's pup) had a health scare this week, but I just got this photo of the little girl headed home after 3 days in the doggie hospital. My heart exploded with joy and love at this sight. I'm so, so happy that puppy prayers were answered and Macy is OK! She is such a sweet little girl and I'm so glad that she gets to go back to God's country (Upland) to hang out with her two other four-legged friends Madison and (big, dumb) Addie. :)

Macy is headed home

New York, New York
Well, it is official. I am going to be on an assignment for work from October 10, 2011- February 17, 2012 in New York City. That means I will certainly be blogging again because let's face it, I'm going to be doing fun stuff again. Woot.
I'll now attempt to answer a lot of your questions:
1. What are you doing there?
Working on a large project that I'm unable to divulge further details on- so sorry.
2. What is Jackson going to do?
He will work here in Indianapolis during the week. I get one free plane ticket per week so he will either come see me in NYC, I will come home or we will meet up somewhere exciting to go play.
3. What is MacKenzie going to do?
A lot of spending the night with other people when Jackson comes out to see me. Volunteers welcome. She is the best puppy ever.
4. Are you excited?
Yes! I get to work "only" a 40 hour week (plus travel if I decide to travel) and study for the CPA exam. My classes transferred to a location in Manhattan so I can still sit for the exam while I'm out there. This should be a lot less strenuous that my normal job so I am looking forward to a chance to take the stupid CPA exam and put it behind me.
5. Can I come and visit you?
YES! Please do! I do not know my accommodations for sure yet, but I am certain I can find a place for you. I intend to become to world's best NYC tour guide, too, so be prepared.
6. Do you still have to go to India?
Yes. I will be home for about a week from this assignment and then I will be going to India for another couple of months. Yes, I will miss my bed. Deeply.

Last night we ate a yummy dinner (thanks, Heidi!) at the Porterfield's. When we were leaving, Jax walked us out. He's getting so big! Then Jackson decided that Jax should try out life in the convertible.

Speaking of dogs...
there is the CUTEST little Indiana University dog bed at Cracker Barrel that MacKenzie obviously needs, but her mother was too sensible to buy for her. Poor little MacKenzie. ;)

"Thanks for the steps!"
One of our favorite things about our new yard is the landscaping. It is really well done and all we have to do is maintain it (not as easy as it sounds!). I noticed the other morning, though, that MacKenzie was hesitant to go out to the grass because she had to cross the rocks. I love that we have rocks instead of mulch, but they are uncomfortable to walk across. It became obvious that action needed to be taken so we stopped at Menard's that afternoon and got MacKenzie some steps. (Boy, she is spoiled!)
I was amazed that the second we put the steps in place and MacKenzie came out and inspected them. She was so pleased with us, thank goodness. ;) (I'm fully aware that she is a dog. I just really love her so keep your judgements to yourselves!)
