Holiday fun

We had a lot to fit in during the first few weeks of December. My parents kept MacKenzie while we were in D.C. so I headed up on evening to pick her up. Mom was decorating her tree that night with two little girls from church she watched and obsesses over. I never understood until I met these little girls. They are special! It was a delight to decorate the tree with them!

They're so cute!

We made time for MacKenzie to get her holiday style before she headed for Naples.
Fresh haircut!
We did our Christmas shopping which is never dull when Jackson is involved!

MacKenzie's haircut proved to have been too early and she ended up living in her coat for a couple of days.
Broke out her coat!
We did some Christmas baking which is a personal favorite of mine.
It isn't Christmas without Lena cookies

Christmas in a cookie!
We did some holiday dining. Another favorite.

we leave town
We got to celebrate Christmas with the Porterfield family!

Believe it or not, I'd never built a gingerbread house before. Minus the cinnamon smell, it was SO fun.
Gingerbread house building was very serious for the
two adults

Candy eating meant more to the kiddos

That is a lot of cute in one photo!

Pretty pleased with the outcome

Heidi making it FAR prettier than we did!

Seriously. She has a gift!

Everyone else moved on and we were still decorating! HA!

The Porterfield house was like one from a magazine
I loved sitting there and soaking in the holiday spirit

MacKenzie found a cozy spot, too!
Tiny bestie got glasses!! Can you even deal
with how cute she is?!
We went to God's country to celebrate Christmas!
Ella was pretty pleased with her gift!

MacKenzie brought a cake from Three Dog Bakery that read, "see ya, Emmie!" because she was not sad to be bidding farewell to the huge dog who always messes with her.
MacK was ready to open her gift

"Does this mean I'm old?!"

Get more gorgeous, MacK!
It was a busy couple of weeks of celebrations, but I loved it. I wish Christmas lasted all year!
