Beachin'

We were able to fall into our Naples routine. We hit the beach for most of the day and then caught the early sunset (like 5:30!).

Making crab cakes
We wanted to celebrate Susan's 72nd birthday so we made her make her famous Maryland-style crab cakes. HA! Yes, she had to help with her own birthday dinner. Jackson took notes, though, and plans to make them himself from now on!
Celebrating the big 72

Brussels, smashed potatoes and a crab cake- YUM!

The next day looked pretty similar. More sun (probably too much according to my burnt skin) and sand.
I loved this bird.

The newest house on the beach that we LOVE
Jackson and I spent the evening walking around the shopping district. They do such a nice job of decorating for the holidays.
My favorite present
On Monday I sadly had to take my boyfriend to the airport for his mid-morning flight. He had to get back to study for an exam he had to take for a new work credential (he passed! YAY! He's now a Chartered Retirement Plan Counselor!) on Thursday afternoon. I didn't plan to come back until Wednesday evening so we parted ways.

I spent the morning working at a Starbucks with some nice retirees before it finally got to be lunch time so I could hit my favorite Floridian haunt: Sonny's BBQ. There is not a location in Naples so I had to go while I was up in Ft. Myers at the airport.

Corn nuggets will change your life
I got back to Naples in the afternoon and took a long walk on the beach with Susan.
Such a nice place for a stroll

Dining outside in late November? OK! :)
The next day I worked in the morning and then we went to the beach in the late afternoon for another walk. This time we stayed until sunset.
It never gets old
We decided to clean up and go to a nice dinner on 5th Avenue. We got to sit outside AGAIN and enjoy the perfect evening air. Our dinner was really good despite a bit of a service issue that was later resolved with an email to the owner.
Amazing appetizer
My final morning I decided to eat breakfast and watch golfer. It was lovely.
I spent the day at the library working, but took a quick lunch break to drink a smoothie and eat a wrap on the beach. It was a pretty awesome lunch break.
I could get used to this..
We had an easy direct flight back to Indy and got picked up by a handsome guy and his adorable puppy. Life. Is. Good!

Thanks for sharing your place, Susan, and happy 72nd! :)
