R&R in Airlie

I'm not sure when we'll officially adjust to Aussie time. Maybe when we return home?! We were up at 4:45 and waiting for the sun to come up. We went to the rooftop to see the happenings, but it turned out to be cloudy.
Early morning clouds
We came back down and Jackson had a morning snack of Tim Tams. They're addicting little cookies. We do have them in the U.S. but they are not nearly the same recipe according to people down here.
Breakfast of Aussie champions
Our host, Glenda, was kind enough to pick a mango for us this morning and cut it into a "hedgehog" for us. Neither of us traditionally liked the fruit but being fresh and all it was lovely here.
A mango "hedgehog"
We're really trying to embrace the Australian lifestyle which includes cooking outside almost exclusively.
Brekky BBQ
It was one of my favorite breakfasts ever based on the company and the view.
Egg sandwiches and fresh fruit- yum!!
Jackson woke up with the sniffles this morning and thought he might be allergic to some trees near the condo so he took one of my allergy pills. I warned him that I take them at night because they cause drowsiness, but it was too late.
ZZZ...
You guys, WHY DID IT TAKE ME 10 YEARS TO DRUG MY HUSBAND?! It was amazing. He just went to sleep. I got to read AN ENTIRE BOOK today without him complaining about me being boring or ignoring him! It was incredible.
More snoozin'
He actually came in from outside to take a nap. He never naps willingly. I just laid next to him and read. It was so, so relaxing. Once he'd finally slept off the drugs (haha), we walked down the massive hill into town so that we could register for our sailing trip tomorrow and hit the grocery store to pick up dinner.

We did it up big for dinner and had frozen pizzas on the grill. Yep. We cooked them on the grill. They were actually better that way as they were nice and crispy! We nearly never eat things like that at home so it was actually kind of fun. There is another couple staying here from Chicago and they're going to the fancy restaurant in town tonight. Suckers. ;) Since you do not tip here in Australia the service in restaurants is notoriously bad. We hate overpaying for bad service so we've stayed home for this whole part of the trip. Amazing.

We spent the evening on the rooftop enjoying the evening breeze. This place has been lovely and we're looking forward to some time on the Great Barrier Reef starting tomorrow.
