The Petefish Post: Catching up

Anyway, things don't really ever slow down too much around here. I hopped down to Daytona Beach, Florida on September 26th and 27th (I'd just recovered from all the flying from our Hawaii trip!) for a job interview. I ended up not being interested in the job. Bummer. Leaving in middle of the week meant I had a busy week making up time and didn't get my normal schedule of Monday and Friday off. Whew! This working a full week thing is for the birds, guys! ;)

Jackson stayed busy, too. He spent one day at a client location in Hartford City then used my parent's place in Upland as his office for the day.

We were able to make it out to what turned out to be Jax's last football game of the season. It was the playoffs so once his team lost the season was over. They put up a good fight, but in the end it was not enough. Poor little guy took it really hard!

We've hated the faucet that was here when we moved in from the beginning but were too cheap to replace it since it did work. Eventually Jackson decided he wanted a new one so we got that installed. It was a painful process for him physically under the sink and me mentally dealing with his sour attitude. Home improvement projects always sound fun until you're doing them.

Jackson also replaced a broken part in the toilet in the master bathroom. It has always been broken for two years and was fixed in a very messy couple of hours. These felt like major homeowner victories! I think once he knew I was not taking the job in Florida he decided we'd better make some fixes around here.

Otherwise things have been pretty quiet. Susie has been staying with us since before I got back from Hawaii due to her house selling so MacKenzie has gotten plenty of extra walks! She seems extra tired these days from all the excitement!

Thursday I worked on campus until 7 pm(!!!) then met Jackson in Upland to celebrate Guy's birthday. It is so nice to go to God's Country after a long day!

Saturday night Jackson and I went to see one of his co-workers play a Tom Petty tribute at a place in Zionsville called Books n Brews. We actually really liked the place. I schooled Jackson in a game of checkers and he narrowly beat me in Scrabble while we listened to the music. It was really fun date night!
