I got home Thursday evening and hit the ground running. I got unpacked, laundry going and the house tidied up. Friday morning I had personal training, a facial and lunch with my friend Megan. I know, my life is not hard.

That evening we went to the Porterfield's place to visit. They were keeping a baby for another foster family so they had 4 kids!!!! The place was a well-run zoo. Soon enough Jax was off to a birthday party, Jocelin went to a friend's house and it was just us with the foster kiddos. Heidi said she had forgotten how much work babies were. I had, too. Whew! Actually keeping an eye on the baby and trying to get her to eat was exhausting. We eventually headed out for an evening date at Chuy's. It was not a bad day back at home!
Saturday we ran errands before it was time for my CPA boss, Bill, to give his final of four daughters away in marriage. The wedding was lovely and the reception was at the library in downtown Indianapolis. I'd never been there before and it was a gorgeous building!
We didn't stay at the reception much after dinner because we are old. :) Also, the World Series was on and we did not have a puppysitter. We had reasons!
Sunday we ran errands and then headed to Gaston to celebrate Sir Liam Mauck turning 3 years old. We were a little late, but with Kort's schedule and mine things got tricky. Liam didn't seem to mind getting his gifts a little late! The Mauck boys love Paw Patrol so I got them pumpkin decorations featuring their favorite characters. Kort was pleased because it was painting pumpkins instead of carving them.

It was still a messy job, but we had fun! Kort and I care WAY MORE than the boys did about the paint jobs being good ones. HA! Luckily I brought treats so the boys were distracted while we waited for the pumpkins to dry. Those kids can eat some chocolate muffins!
Guy made chicken and noodles which is my all-time favorite meal. It was incredible.
Our time in Upland is always so relaxing. We just hung out and watched the game while in a food coma!
Miss MacKenzie even got a new red harness for her big upcoming birthday. I cannot believe she will be 11. She sure brings a lot of joy to our lives!
It was a great, busy (!!) weekend and we loved every minute of it. We have quite a lovely tribe around here and we feel very blessed.

Since MacKenzie is soon turning 11, we decided to have her little party a bit early. We stopped up at my parents' house after our afternoon with the Mauck family to have dinner. We brought treats for all of the dogs so they could all join in MacKenzie's celebration.
