D.C. to Indy

This took place on December 3, 2017...
Dangerous to have Shake Shack within walking distance
We had both come down with a pretty nasty cold by Sunday morning so we took it easy that morning only venturing out for a lovely lunch at Shake Shack, a personal fast-food favorite.
The Smithsonian never disappoints
Eventually we decided to go explore a bit more so we went to the Mall and through some of the Smithsonian museums which are all FREE! What? So cool!
I love fossils!!!

Telling folks how this was the size of the
sea turtle he swam with in Maui

Look at this beauty!!

The heart of the ocean (from Titanic)
We really enjoyed walking through the museums until they closed (after all, it was Sunday) and we made the chilly walk back to our hotel.

We grabbed an Uber and headed for the Baltimore airport. We'd booked to fly home from there so we could get a direct flight. It was an easy one and before long we were home to Miss MacKenzie. We had SUCH a great trip and I'm so glad we added on a little side trip to D.C!
REUNITED!
