The District...

Actually happened on December 2, 2017...I'm a little tardy in posting.

The Wharf

We continued to have amazing weather so we wandered around the city and found some lunch. We saw on TripAdvisor that this pizza joint was great so we decided to check it out. We were not at all lead astray this time. It was some of the best pizza we'd ever had! Writing about it now is making me want to go back and have it again...

This pizza was AMAZING!

We decided to go see Union Station since we'd never been there so we walked through some new neighborhoods and then I looked up and saw the U.S. Tax Court.

So excited to see tax court!

What I love about D.C. is how you're walking and then there is just this amazing, significant building.

We got back to our room in time to catch sunset which was just gorgeous.

We made late dinner reservation since we'd eaten so much pizza and were pleasantly surprised to hear that there would be a fireworks show that evening. Jackson LOVES fireworks! Score!

It was an awesome show!

It was nice because the fireworks ended just as we needed to head into the city's center for dinner. We'd normally not have felt super comfortable walking through the streets at night, but the crowds were our friend so we strolled on over. It was truly the best surprise!

The restaurant is kind of a legend in the District and it was just so festive, warm and busy. I loved it!
