Wednesday?! Already?! Wow. Ok. This week has been pretty busy around here and I'm more than thankful to have some unexpected days off to recuperate. Yesterday was a tax deadline for certain extensions and estimates were also due-I'd like to thank the IRS for making that all fall on one day...NOT. GRR! It was a mad dash to the finish that included me working Sunday, but we did it and all is well in the world again until October 15th. Sigh.
Monday evening I rode the train to the mall and met Jackson there. We were able to get the software that I needed for my Apple computer for only $50! The lady working there gave us a $30 discount for a promotion that they were running that we did not technically qualify for- what a nice lady! I had class that evening so Jackson got to watch football all by himself. I was just a little jealous! I do really like the new software and think it will be quite helpful in my research class this fall. Speaking of school it is going to be a loooong fall quarter. The two classes that I am taking both require a lot of reading and writing papers. Who does that?! ;) The good news is that once I finish these two stinkers the rest of the way should be pretty easy. Score. Then I just have to sit for the CPA exam. Study for the LSAT and get into law school. No big deal, right?! :) So for now I have class Monday and Wednesday at 7:40 and Friday at 5:30. Yes, a Friday class. I know. I do not like it either.
As I mentioned above, yesterday was tax deadline day so everyone at work was a little more stressed than normal. I tried to just relax and know that it would all be over soon. It is over! Woo hoo! All of the tax people got 2 days off for working last weekend. I'll take it. I would have much preferred to spend Sunday with my family, but at least I get a little something. Jackson actually got the do "real work" at his job yesterday. Things have been a little slow for him there because the guy he is taking over for has been on vacation for what seems like a long time. The guy is due to return this week so that should be a welcome change for Jackson. He gets bored easily. :) Tonight he has to go to some happy hour thing for work. (Side note: I really hate when work requires one to go to a bar. I do not drink much and certainly not with people I work with so I always find it really awkward to have to go to such events.) That means I will not see him tonight since when he returns I'll be at school for a study session and then class. I hate evenings like that!
MacKenzie has made a lot of new friends in our condo complex. She's so much fun to play with here because there are all kinds of walls and things for her to jump. People are always impressed with her hops. :) She's got skills!
I read the other day on Twitter that Jessica Simpson's dog, Daisy, was abducted by a coyote. A reward is being offered to anyone that can find the dog but the chances are honestly quite slim. MacKenzie's Aunt Kathi put it best when she said, "I can't help but think how lucky MacKenzie was to get away. She must be half cat to have a few extra lives to spare." We continue to praise the Lord that MacKenzie was rescued and hope that Dasiy will be so lucky, too. We have been warned about the number of coyotes in this area of town so MacKenzie will always be leased!
