Jenna has a job!

Well, we have been quite busy here. On Wednesday morning I left for Boston on PwC's dime. I got to Boston around dinner time and treated myself to Legal Seafood. Yum! I love their lobster bisque and crab cakes. That place is not cheap, though. I'm quite sure we will only eat there when we have people in town visiting us.

Anyway, it was the first time that I can remember ever staying in a hotel all by myself. I was so bored. I watched Shark week and passed out early as flying just takes it out of me. I had my interview at 10 on Thursday morning. I walked out of the hotel and into a sauna. Holy smokes the humidity just kills me. It was also raining. WHAT?! It just does not rain in the morning in Denver. We're going to really have to adjust to the weather there. Anyway, my interview went well. I went to lunch with one of the managers at the fanciest restaurant I'd ever been to at the Intercoastal Hotel. I got a pasta dish that was tiny and super expensive. They also didn't give drink refills. What the heck?! People pay huge money to get small portions and no refills? Maybe if I were rich I wouldn't be overweight! Anyway, the food was good, but I hate stuffy restaurants like that.

I hurried to the airport as my flight was supposed to leave at 3 and it was already 1:30. I got to my gate in plenty of time, but my flight was oversold. A lady with a 4 month old baby was not going to make it on the flight so I gave up my seat. I was told that I'd get home by midnight. I got $20 for food in the airport, $400 in United credits and a teary hug from a new mom. (I hate hugs.) I hung around the airport on their free wifi (thank goodness Jackson convinced me to pack my laptop) and then a thunderstorm rolled in. It was a nightmare. All of the flights were delayed indefinitely. Arg! I ended up stuck at the airport until 7:45 or so. It really wasn't all of that bad, but people's bad attitudes got old. I met a nice girl from Chicago and hung out with her. Anyway, I finally got home and crawled into bed at around 1 a.m. Thankfully, I didn't have any commitments on Friday.

I woke up to good news from PwC. I got the job! Yay! I start work on September 13th. They have certain start dates and I just couldn't be there in time for the August 23rd date. I was a bit bummed, but so be it. I'm just excited that it all worked out. :) God is good!

I found an ad on Craigslist for a girl seeking to sublet her apartment at the complex across the street from Jackson's new office. We're in the midst of working that out now. We'd love to have a place to land when we get there instead of extended stay. Staying in her place until January or February will give us time to find a place to buy hopefully.

We sold a lot of our furniture and have people schedule to pick it up throughout the day today. Our landlord showed our place today and got a new lease signed. It is really happening! We are on our way to Boston.

We have Marla staying with us until tomorrow afternoon. It is always an adventure to have her around. Monday morning I am heading to Indiana for a couple of weeks. I get to go down to Southern Indiana to see Alex, Grace and company. I'm so excited. It is going to be a long drive all by myself, but I'm sure I will find something to entertain me.

MacKenzie will be staying in Denver with Jackson until I fly back on the 20th. We intend to pack the truck that weekend and head for our new home. Whew! I think you can see why I had fallen behind on my blogging. I swear if slowing down means getting old that I'll never age! :)
