Plasma

Jackson and I have been arguing about whether or not donating plasma is a good idea. I won't tell you which one of us wants to donate so that you don't pick sides based solely on the person. :) I would like to know if anyone has heard anything negative or positive about donating plasma. It generates an extra $60 a week in income per person, but has one of us a little worried. The donation center seems to be in a shaky part of town, but we feel certain that it is clean inside. Thank you in advance for your thoughts!

I have no opinion nor do I know anyone who has, but let me know what you decided and why. You can donate each week? I'll donate for $60!!

Also, is there a setting so that you can receive an email whenever you receive a comment? Thanks!

I think it is OK to donate plasma but I would not do it every week. Alot of druggies and alcoholics donate weekly for the money. Thus, being in a not so good area. I am interested in who doesn't like the idea as I have my speculation.
I would rather donate blood occassionally.
Love to all of you vampires.

I'm going to defer to my dad on this one... I believe Aunt Jara has some sort of story to tell. I'm kinda with Mom P on this one, though.

Did you know that my entire wedding ring was paid for with Kyle's plasma? He went twice a week all summer ($20 first visit, $30 the second) as well as as often as he could during the school year. So, I guess my ring has a genuine "blood diamond" in it. He alway brought a good book to read and the ladies were really nice to him (he went in Kokomo). I think it's safe as long as you follow all of the precautions they give you with eating and how often you should/shouldn't do it. Obviously there is a need for it if they are paying you. I might look into doing it myself, although I HATE needles, and plasma needles are no joke. Kyle said they were pretty big, in fact. The visits do take a long time though, and time is money, so that is something to take into consideration. As long as it seems like a sanitary and professional place, I would think it would be ok.

yep donated plasma at the center of the universe. gosh, it is a way better deal now then it was in the 70's. it used to zap me pretty good, but the money was right. my deciding factor now is if you only do it for the money it is a bad idea.

Just saw your blog off of facebook...I used to give plasma for money when I was at IU. Easy money as long as you stay hydrated...no real drawbacks, except the 1st time took forever because of paperwork.
