Headed to Indiana

Thursday we headed to the airport at 4:30. We stopped for dinner first and then parked and headed inside. We were then notified that our flight had been delayed from 6:35pm to 11:40pm, but we could not leave the airport just in case they moved our flight again. It ended up being 12:35 am before we took off. The photo above was taken a midnight when they passed out mini pretzels and cokes. Too little. Too late. Yep. It was a VERY long night. Ugh. The flight was incredibly bad full of bumps and turbulence. We did not land in Indianapolis until 5:20am local time. We got our rental car and headed towards Susie's house. We stopped for breakfast at Cracker Barrel- we were around so early that we had to kill time playing checkers. I won. As always. We decided not to go to sleep since I had a doctor appointment at 8:20 and Jackson had a 9:22 tee time.

As soon as we got to Susie's house Grace and Monty (her dog) greeted us. Then Monty peed on Susie's herb garden and pooped in her attic. HILARIOUS! After we finished laughing at Monty's antics and Susie's horror, I went to the doctor, got a new license (in 7 minutes! Good job, Mitch Daniels, for improving the license branches), and got my hair done. I'm now a dark brunette. Thanks for paying for that, Susie! Happy birthday to me! :)

I then got to have 2 lunch dates. First, I ate with Heidi and Andrew. I had a salad. Then Jackson called and was eating Mexican food so I met up with him and had chips with white cheese. YUM! It was then time to go to the spa- thanks, Shannon. It was AWESOME! I was so relaxed that I fell asleep. The masseuse commented on my wedding ring and her voice woke me up. I screamed, "RING?! What ring?! Who has a ring?!!" Haha- I told you I was asleep. She startled me! It was a wonderful massage. I'd get one every day if I could. Side note: Shannon and I were able to go to DSW and not buy anything. Is that a sign of maturity?! ;)

I then picked up Jackson and Grace and we headed to Muncie to meet my parents for dinner. We ate a Hacienda. Our favorite. Grace is growing like a weed- she's up to my shoulders- so she has been eating a lot. Jackson read that kid's menu to Grace and said, "you can get a taco, an enchilada, or a burrito." Grace looks at him and says, "those sound good, I'll take 'em all." HA! She was supposed to pick one! We loved it, she is so funny. We decided to go up to Upland from there so Grace could see the dogs and go to Ivanhoe's. Keep in mind this was about 7:30pm Friday and we had not slept since Thursday morning at 6:30am. AH! We had a wonderful time in Upland riding the THINK mobile and eating ice cream. We just love it up there.
We finally headed back to Indy with a very sleepy girl in the backseat. We love "babysitting" Grace. She's 9! Ah! We cannot believe how quickly she's grown up.

We had such a wonderful day. There is truly no place like home. Oh and once we got to bed we went to sleep like logs!!
