Today was a great day. I woke up and went to work for 3 hours. (My boss was actually friendly. Whoa. We've wrapped up a successful, stressful tax season and that feels good. My schedule will get a lot more flexible for the next couple of months, but my pay will stay the same. Ah yes, that's the part I have been looking forward to all winter!) Then I had lunch with Jackson at Qdoba.
On my way home, I decided to get my "post-tax season massage" that my boss had promised me. It was lovely. Since I was in the pampering mode, I stopped and got a pedicure. I even meandered into a liquor store to surprise Jackson with a bottle of wine to go with our dinner. I was flattered- and a bit annoyed- when the clerk refused to sell to me since I had an out of state license that he didn't think was real. I whipped out my University of Denver identification card. Still nothing because it didn't specify "graduate student." Really dude? I gave up and left. Can you imagine? He really thought I had a fake i.d.!
Anyway, I came home and hung with MacKenzie. Then met Jackson at the Toyota store to finally get his oil changed and car serviced. I had to BEG him to take care of that. Arg. While we waited on his car, we dropped the top on mine and headed to the driving range. I'm just coaching until graduate school is over so Jackson worked on some swings and I critiqued. He hurt his hip BOWLING (yes, I married an old, old man) a few months ago and it is really messing with his golf swing. I think when we get home from Boston he's going to have to go to physical therapy. I cannot deal with, "oh my hip!!" Not yet, anyway.
We went to Chili's for dinner to support a local preschool's fundraising efforts. Ok, so we had no idea there was a fundraiser, but when we got there we participated. Leave me alone. We even went to Crate and Barrel to look at a couch. (I'm dying for a new couch and Jackson spilled Crystal Light all over our current one last night. Arg again.) The couch we want is far too expensive and will not be making an appearance in our residence. Bummer. :( But it is still always fun to hop into C & B.
That was about all, I think. I consider it as one of the best Mondays on record for me. Cheers! :)
