Maine

We got to York, Maine this afternoon and got to watch some surfers for a little bit. As you can see, it was a gray and ugly day. Boo. The ocean was angry-looking and the beach that we walked along last time was all underwater.
It was super cold and rainy, but there were 6 hardcore surfers out trying to catch some of the angry waves.
I think it was too cold for sharks. :)

We found this really cute outfit today and got it for Alex. He'll look like he's been to Maine. :) I just loved it. SO CUTE!!

Today we went to UConn's main campus. It was really big! It was no IU, but it was a large place nonetheless. (It has about 1/2 of the population of IU.) On our way out of the hotel this morning Jackson found $20 on the ground. I was so excited you would have thought we won the lottery. We were able to parlay his finding into 2 new t-shirts from the UConn bookstore. :) It was great!

Then we got on the road to Maine. We got all the way to the restaurant that we wanted to revisit only to find that it hadn't open for the season yet. WAH! (Though I cannot blame them. The weather here has stunk!! Last weekend it was in the high 80's here. GRR.) We ended up way overpaying for a yucky lunch elsewhere. Boo. Then we watched the surfers and that was fun. Over all, though, today was a washout. We'd like a rain check and Jackson's vacation days back! ;) It has forced us to slow ourselves down which Jackson thinks needed to happen.

Tomorrow we intend to go to Portland, Maine. It is supposed to be a really cute place to see. We want to get MacKenzie a new summer collar so wish us luck. Monday we get to be in Boston for the marathon. (No, we're not running!) It should be kind of cool to be in the city when it is all a buzz for Patriots' Day. (A holiday celebrated in New England to commemorate the anniversaries of the Battles of Lexington and Concord in the Revolutionary War.)

Fingers crossed for the rain to let up tomorrow.
