The (not-so) Great Salt Lake

Today, after we took MacKenzie to camp, we went out to the Great Salt Lake. I have always wanted to float in the lake. That did not happen. The "beach" at Antelope Island (a 15 mile island in the middle of the lake) was not cool. The sand was rocky and it hurt to walk. The water was slimy and nasty. I could not bring myself to float. I waded out to my knees and called it a day. The water stung at my little scrapes from falling the other day while hiking. Jackson had a cut on his foot that burned. Jackson did bite the bullet and floated. He was disgusted. What a let down! Boo! This is a statue at Temple Square. Temple Square is a 35 acre section of Salt Lake City's downtown that is owned by the Latter Day Saints. It is full of their houses of worship.
This is the temple. It is a rip-off as you cannot go in unless you're Mormon. GRR! They do not advertise that enough. I lived through a 30 minute tour thinking that I got to go into the temple. Nope. The tour was interesting. I think it is meaningful to learn about other religions. I am not, however, down with the Mormon religion. We're not converting. No worries. :)
A quick snapshot of your bloggers. :)

Now Jackson will be adding his two cents to the blog more often. He was so well-received yesterday that he is excited to be writing again soon! :)
