A trip to the Vet

Look how happy MacKenzie looks. This was BEFORE she saw the vet and had THREE tubes of blood taken. GRR. As you can see, a young Michael Jackson was staring at her. That was only slightly creepy. Anyway, I took MacKenzie to the vet today because she has not been eating as well lately and she has a funny patch of coarse, brown hair on her back. She had to have all the blood drawn to do a bunch of tests. (By the way, my Mom told me she'd have to have a fecal test so I collected her poop just in case. She did not need to have a fecal test so I collected poop for nothing. Thanks a lot, Deb!) We should know the test results tomorrow. $289 later and we were on the way home. Sigh. I love this dog, but she sure is not cheap.

I got good news from school today. I am able to finish one of my classes online and just take the final in person. After all of the drama around here lately with job hunting and then working, I'd missed a few classes. I was afraid I was going to have to drop the class and take it another semester. As it turns out, though, I have a very understanding professor who has agreed to let me catch up and finish online. Bless him. I didn't want to extend our stay in Denver by even a few months!

Lastly, Jackson had his interview this afternoon. I'll go pick him up from the train station in a few minutes. Hopefully he will post this evening on how it went.

Did you ever find out what is wrong with Mak? I hope that she is ok. And I definitely feel you when it comes to paying so much for vet visits! I dropped $200 last time just for an annual visit and her heart worm meds. Crazy! Also, that's awesome about your class. What a great prof. :-)
