Seriously.

I am pretty sure no one reads my blog anymore since I never update. So I'll apologize to our Mothers- the real readers of this website. Sorry, Moms.

Things are quite hectic around here. Jackson is doing really well in his class. I think he is starting to get into the swing of things with being back in school.

I, on the other hand, am getting ready to wrap up my graduate school career. I graduate on June 4th. Can you even deal? I'm so excited. (I'll admit that I will feel somewhat lost without the title of "student" but I plan to be back in school- law school- before you know it!!)

I'm headed back to Indiana this weekend. I'm also coming back for like a week after April 15th. (Hurry up, April 15th. I'm tired.) I'll get to hang with Ms. Grace and finally see their new house! And hopefully meet a new, healthy nephew, Alex.

Jackson and I are headed to San Francisco in early May to see my friend Cali Kate. We're also staying in Pebble Beach one night. (Jackson is supposed to play golf, but he's trying to back out now so we'll see.)

With so much going on, I've just been trying to remind myself to enjoy the now and not always live in the future. I recommend finding the fun in each day as who knows when it will be our last.

This has gotten really long and kind of about nothing so I will end.

Valentine's Day (The movie)

We went to see Valentine's Day this weekend at the fancy theatres- yay. It was soo cute. My favorite part? Topher Grace's character was from INDIANA!!!! He had an IU poster in his room, referenced being from Muncie (which means he had totally been to Ivanhoe's!), and took some jokes from his L.A. friends about being from the Midwest. I loved it! The movie was super cute, too. :) I recommend it!

Snow Hike

I needed to work some this afternoon so Jackson took MacKenzie and went on a snowy hike. Look at poor little MacKenzie's snowy beard. Brr! The view of Red Rocks from the top of their climb. Look at all of that snow coming down. (Danielle THAT is snow!)
And this was MacKenzie the other night during the Olympics, but is about what she looks like now after her hike, too!

Funny

Today, I had a client ask me if I thought they were eligible for a black American Express card. They were sold on the ability to get great concert tickets as a perk of the card.

Let me tell you about a black AMEX...you have to spend $250,000 a YEAR on your AMEX to qualify.

Insane. People are insane.

There are children starving in Africa (and elsewhere) and you're spending $250,000 a year on your AMEX?

They qualified.

Puke.

Valentines

These are my two Valentines sitting together watching the Winter Olympics! We love it! :) We relaxed all day before making dinner: bruschetta, shrimp pasta, chocolate cake and ice cream. Whoa! I need to hit the gym now!

Tiffany

I count Jackson as one of the hardest people in the world to buy for because he is very picky. Do NOT try to buy him anything golf related because he is a golf stuff snob. Clothes? Forget it. So when a Tiffany's box came through the mail at my office for a client (his wife sent them to the P.O. Box that we collect mail from so he would not see them, but didn't tell us that so we opened them! HA!), I thought they'd be a great gift for Jackson. He likes french cuff shirts and has a few cheaper sets of cuff links that he wears fairly often. These were just so pretty. I think he will look awfully fancy in his Tiffany jewelry. ;)

P.S. I have never gotten a gift from Tiffany's from Jackson. (Only my from my Mom!) Just sayin', babe. ;)

THE bag

After looking for what seems like forever, I was able to find the PERFECT diaper bag for my sister today. She and I are seriously night and day because she did not care what her diaper bag looked like and was in no hurry to get it. I, on the other hand, will march right out and buy my diaper bag (a Kate Spade maybe? Louis Vuitton perhaps? It just depends.) the day that I find out I am pregnant. (IF that ever happens.) Anyway, today we found this bag at the Coach store and I could not leave it behind. I think she will LOVE it! :) I believe it will be her first Coach bag- I hope she doesn't get the fever! :)

Lauren Conrad!

I wanted to include a few far away photos to show that I was NOT the oldest person there.

I forgot my real camera so these are all with my iPhone. They would not allow you to pose for photos with Lauren. She would only sign her books and nothing else. You could not have a photo of her signing your book. Sigh. They were a little mean.

Lauren was soo pretty. She did have on BRIGHT red lipstick that I disagreed with whole-heartedly. A girl in front of me asked to see her shoes- they were fabulous, of course. Jackson thought she looked anorexic. She was VERY thin, but I thought she looked GREAT! She was very sweet and thanked me for coming out and getting her book. Funny story: the 27 year-old girl in front of me drive 1.5 hours to meet Lauren and was a bit of a crazy face. She was going to name her kids "Lauren" and "Conrad" so she would always think of Lauren. She told Lauren this and she accepted it well with a, "thank you. That's very, uhh, sweet." I would have been like, "SECURITY!"

Anyway, it was really fun to meet her. Jackson is SUCH a trooper. :)

SUCH a WONDERFUL Valentine!!

I came home after a LONG day of school and work to this: roses, a super sweet card, the new Lauren Conrad book that I wanted AND a ticket to MEET LAUREN CONRAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(For the older generation readers of the Petefish Post: Lauren Conrad was the star of one of our favorite t.v. shows called "The Hills." She's like Paris Hilton in that she's kind of famous for nothing, but I love her, she's beautiful and she writes cute books!)

Anyway, she's going to be in town doing a book signing tomorrow so Jackson got me a ticket to meet her! Expect photos tomorrow! :):) I'm soo excited!

What to wear?!

I have the BEST Valentine on earth. I so love you, Jackson. :):):):):):)

Tasty Valentine

Today, my dear, sweet husband gave me the sweetest (get it?!) Valentine's Day gift ever: THIN MINTS!!!! I LOVE Girl Scout cookies. (I know, I know, my fat butt needs another cookie like I need a hole in the head. Leave it alone, please.)

I love Jackson Edward. :)

Welcome home, Kyle!

My dear, dear friends Megan and Kyle Parton are reunited! :) Kyle just got home from Afghanistan. Is this not the most wonderful photo EVER?! I love it. Thanks so much for leaving your gorgeous wife to serve our country, Kyle, you're awesome. :):) WELCOME HOME!!

P.S. I am well aware that I have just been stealing photos from other people's lives recently to post on my blog. This is because no one wants to hear about tax returns and toiling away at work all of the time. Sigh.

SOO CUTE!

Baby Jax Porterfield getting a kiss from Gunner- this is quite possibly the cutest photo EVER. Ahh, get me on a flight to Indiana so I can meet this cute little guy already!!!!
Try as he might, Jax was not able to cheer our COLTS to a victory. Bummer. :(

We're still here- just busy...

We have not had much going on lately. It is offficially tax season. Boo/Yay depending on the day. Jackson started work on his graduate degree and I'm just winding mine down. Sigh. It never ends.

Tomorrow we're all off to Meg's to cheer on the COLTS in the Super Bowl. Let's go HORSE! :)

Helpless

Sometimes being so far away makes us feel helpless. This week and last week have made being so far from home really tough. Quite frankly, I want to cry and catch the first flight home.

Welcome, Jax

Our dear friends, Heidi and Andrew, welcomed their first child into the world today, Jaxton Andrew. He weighed in at 7lbs 12 oz and was 20.5 inches long. He has dark hair! (we were certain he'd be a redhead.) Heidi and Jax are doing great. Praise God. We cannot wait to hold little Jax (and hand him back to Heidi when he cries!)

P.S. This photo made me cry. My best friend is all grown up and a mommy. Sigh.

Funny.

I got this email from a friend today and died laughing:

Jenn,
I thought you would get a kick out of this message from my (sad to say) relative on Facebook."Bryson done good for his surgery. Thanks everyine for prayers. He's in recovery for awhile. He threw up once. They also took out his adnoids at the last minute. Hopefully this is the LAST of all the ear infections!!! Oh, and he wants pancakes when we leave. So I guess it's IHOP next....lol None of us has ate yet!"
I think of you every time someone uses improper grammar at work. Love you!
Christina

Oh my goodness.

Anti-LOST

I feel like the only person on the planet who does not give a hoot about the t.v. show LOST. Honestly, my Facebook page is exploding with people's excitement.

Forget that, I've got taxation rules to learn here in class tonight. Sweet. :)
