Pebble Beach

We paid the $9.50 (is that not outrageous?!) to drive down 17 Mile Road. We got to see like 5 golf courses including Pebble Beach (a really famous course). I found a package a few weeks ago for Jackson to get to play golf here and he refused to pack his clubs and come play. I was so annoyed. Then today all he did was say how lucky the people playing were. HMMM.
The 18th green on Pebble Beach Golf Links.
They were getting the course ready for the U.S. Open in about 5 weeks so the course was in great shape and just gorgeous.
Jackson posting a photo of the Pebble Beach logo tree to Facebook. He was on Facebook for most of the day it seemed so I decided to document what he looked like to me.
He was like a kid on Christmas morning.
It was seriously a gorgeous place.

This was one of the homes nestled in the golf courses. Yes, that is one home and not a hotel. Insane.
Jackson did go onto the course and take a photo down a par 3.

There were all kinds of lookout points to pull of on- it was really quite neat.

The golfers of the U.S. Open are sure in for a gorgeous place to play! :)

Monterey Peninsula

We got up IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT to catch our 6 a.m. flight to California this morning. We go into San Francisco, rented a car and headed south to Monterey. We grabbed some lunch and headed to their famous aquarium. I LOVE aquariums.
Jackson- pretending to be excited to be at the aquarium!
We got to watch the penguins being fed- they were crazy!
We kept hearing kids yell, "HAPPY FEET!" which meant nothing to us, but we assume he was a famous penguin.
We watched the otters swim in their tank. This one decided to eat a starfish. I wanted to scream. I love starfish! He ate a whole arm off of the poor little fish.
He was a lot of fun to watch, though.

Watching all of these animals swim made us want some seafood-haha- so we went for dinner down on the wharf. We had a lot of fun. The weather was PERFECT!

4 years

Four years ago today, I accepted this man's request to marry him. I'm quite pleased with how things have turned out.
I love my little family and have so much fun with Jackson almost everyday. We've said goodbye to our first home together (seen above is the last photo we took in the Noblesville house). We've moved. A lot. We're still planning another move. We've dealt with good and bad. We've been happy and sad. We've traveled. A lot. Most of all, we've been together. And there is no one else I'd rather spend my life with. I love you, Jackson. Happy Engaged Anniversary. :)

To celebrate our time together (and Jackson's upcoming 33rd *gasp* birthday) we will be heading to San Francisco on Thursday morning. Hip, hip hooray!

THE shoeS

Today the overwhelming sense of urgency that graduation was 1 month and 1 day away hit me like a ton of bricks so I not only ordered my announcements (see previous post for that celebration), but I also found THE PERFECT graduation shoe. (I know that this urgency will probably only make sense to Ashley W. and that's why we're friends.)

Anyway, the shoes is gold and maroonish- aka the colors of DU- and has a punch of fun with the animal print. I LOVED it.

All I have left to do is find the perfect dress and pass my finals- easy as pie. ;)

Note: My Grandpa pointed out to my Mom today that I'd look silly only wearing one shoe at graduation. For the record, there is a matching shoe that I also purchased. Thanks for the laugh, Gramps. :)

1 month (and 1 day)

Today, I ordered my graduation announcements! WOOT! :)

Two dogs

We took both dogs on a hike today. That was an adventure!
Marla constantly chased MacKenzie so they both had to stay on their leashes for the entire walk. My perspective after coming up on the BIG hill. I was lagging today. :)
Marla has calmed down and adjusted to life with us, finally. And she's going home in about two hours. Typical. We had a heck of a trip to PetSmart today. We had to go because MacKenzie was approaching a day without food if we didn't! I do not know how people have one child let alone multiple. We were so overwhelmed with two dogs. It has almost been comical.

Other than our hike, we had a pretty relaxing day. We did buy MacKenzie a new "chuck-it" ball throwing device while at PetSmart. I can now throw almost as far as Jackson does! She's going to be loving life with all of the additional ball that she'll get to play. :)

It's Complicated

MacKenzie got to rest up after a long day with Marla while we watched "It's Complicated" with our friend Meg. Jackson made a really great dinner of chicken kabobs and rice. We had a blackberry cobbler that I made with ice cream for dessert- yum! We enjoyed the movie. It was pretty darned funny.
Last night, Marla decided the a comfortable place would be sleeping on my head! MacKenzie is so sweet at the end of the couch and Marla finds her way to my head- GRR!

We had a nice and semi-relaxing day here at the house. We're certainly ready to be a family of two people and one dog again tomorrow evening. :)
