It was rainy and cold in Fishers today so we headed south to Nashville, TN to spend the weekend. Ok, we planned to come down prior to the crappy weather, but I liked it sounding super spontaneous. ;) Anyway, it worked and the weather here in Nashville today was amazing.
Our first stop was at a place that came highly recommended from friends: Jack's Bar-B-Que. It is right in the heart of downtown Nashville.
It was not good. At all. We did get to stand in line with some fun ladies from England and a nice couple from Wisconsin. Meeting those people was really the only redeeming thing about the restaurant. Do. not. go. there. EVER.
As always we popped by the Hard Rock Cafe to get my Mom a pin. We should have eaten there instead of at the BBQ place. HA!!
We walked down to the riverfront and saw where the Titans will play the Bears tomorrow. The city was full of Bears fans today. We hate the Bears. C'est la vie.
I thought it was kind of a fun to see a new city. We just kind of walked around downtown snapping photos and people watching. There are certainly some interesting characters here in Nashville. ;)
I think this building looks like Batman. Jackson thinks it is the coolest ever. Typical.
We took time to actually walk around Vanderbilt's campus, too. When we were here in July we just did not have time to look around because we had to get home. We walked ALL over campus today.
We were not disappointed. It was gorgeous. You would never believe that you're in the middle of a busy city.
I love old buildings on campuses.
The Fall was not really present here today was it was nearly 80 degrees. The leaves were still changing and it was gorgeous.
Jackson was loving our campus tour.
All of the sorority girls were dressed that same. This annoyed me. I kept doing a valley girl impression saying, "if you were jeggings and brown boots, I'll wear jeggings and brown boots and then when we put on our Greek t-shirts we'll like totally match and stuff!!" He was not impressed after about the 56th time that I did this little skit. Oops.
You cannot really tell in this photo, but Jackson was excited that these people were both IU and Vandy fans. I laughed.
We really enjoyed our day exploring Nashville. We went to the mall tonight and met some nice people. People are certainly more friendly here versus Indianapolis. We need to work on that, Indy.
