We woke up in Fargo and had a quick breakfast before retreating to our room to watch the movie we'd rented the night before "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty." The movie came highly recommended by another blog I read and we're still trying to figure out why. Anyway, it entertained us for a bit and then we decided to see a little more of Fargo before leaving town. We stopped to mail a postcard to a preschool class trying to get mail from every state and stumbled upon a Tropical Smoothie Café. WHAT?! Why are they in Fargo and not Indianapolis?! We HAD to swing in and get a smoothie. What a nice surprise, Fargo! From there we headed to one of the marathon's sponsors, Scheels, to see if we could find any good, discounted marathon gear. We found that and so much more. The store was massive and had a Ferris wheel in the middle. What?! Amazing. Jackson and I had never been on one together before so we decided to give it a whirl. We stood in line with a bunch of kids- seriously, adults refuse to have fun- and took our turn. Susie stayed on the ground and snapped photos of my somewhat fearful face. I have to think that facing my fear of heights over and over again will eventually make it go away. Or it will kill me. Either way.

The Ferris wheel went a little high for my taste... |
We loved this store. They had a little area where you could hold a sign and an animal appeared in your hands on their iPad. It was so fun. We stayed there quite a bit longer than most people our age do, I assume.

SHARK!!!! |

Susie's shark almost got the best of her... |

but she prevailed! |
After we relinquished the animal photos to the patient children behind us, we found even more games! I was not as good with the "gun" as I expected to be. :( It was sure fun, though!

Learning to "shoot" |
We ended up spending 1.5 hours in the store. Who knew Fargo had such a gem for us?! We finally tore ourselves away and headed for Grand Forks. We were surprised at the size of the city. It is much larger than Muncie! The school is pretty similar in size to old BSU, though. We explored campus a bit before finding our hotel and soaking our sore bodies in the huge hottub. Then we took Susie out for a Mother's Day dinner at a restaurant highly recommended to us called the Blue Moose. It was amazingly good. It was a large log cabin with awesome food. We loved it, especially dessert!

Happy Mother's Day to Susie...DESSERT! |
Since Susie is traveling with us we wanted to get a good couple photo by the moose. The sounds easier than it was. Eventually our photographer quit (it was a little chilly in the evening and her winter in Florida make her a little weenie) so I had to get creative. Ha!

Petefishes meet the blue moose- my hair is blowing. |

We couldn't agree on a photo where we both looked OK for I
cropped and mirrored two photos to put us together.
COMPROMISE. |
We wanted to see the big flood monument before we left town. It was insane to see how high the water got!

We are sure this park is nice, but it was too cold to explore much. Again, traveling with a weather weenie.

Susie looking chilly...Florida really thinned her skin! |
There was not much else to see in Grand Forks so we came back to the hotel and watched the Pacers win their playoff game. Hooray!
