Photo dump... :)

STARBUCKS RED CUPS! I love the holiday season.
This car had a sticker that read, "I hate Peyton Manning!" and a broken front windshield. Are those two things related? Perhaps. HA! I still gave the guy a hugh thumbs up when we passed him.
Jackson made homemade chocolate chip waffles. YUM!!!!
MacKenzie loves to sun herself.
Miss MacKenzie got a birthday haircut. She is going to be SIX tomorrow. AGH!

Rock the VOTE

We voted today. Jackson waited almost 2 hours. I waited about 45 minutes. I was happy to see so many people out exercising their right to vote. In all honesty, I wasn't loving the lines, though. Oops. :)

Nashville

It was rainy and cold in Fishers today so we headed south to Nashville, TN to spend the weekend. Ok, we planned to come down prior to the crappy weather, but I liked it sounding super spontaneous. ;) Anyway, it worked and the weather here in Nashville today was amazing.
Our first stop was at a place that came highly recommended from friends: Jack's Bar-B-Que. It is right in the heart of downtown Nashville.
It was not good. At all. We did get to stand in line with some fun ladies from England and a nice couple from Wisconsin. Meeting those people was really the only redeeming thing about the restaurant. Do. not. go. there. EVER.
As always we popped by the Hard Rock Cafe to get my Mom a pin. We should have eaten there instead of at the BBQ place. HA!!
We walked down to the riverfront and saw where the Titans will play the Bears tomorrow. The city was full of Bears fans today. We hate the Bears. C'est la vie.
I thought it was kind of a fun to see a new city. We just kind of walked around downtown snapping photos and people watching. There are certainly some interesting characters here in Nashville. ;)
I think this building looks like Batman. Jackson thinks it is the coolest ever. Typical.
We took time to actually walk around Vanderbilt's campus, too. When we were here in July we just did not have time to look around because we had to get home. We walked ALL over campus today.
We were not disappointed. It was gorgeous. You would never believe that you're in the middle of a busy city.
I love old buildings on campuses.
The Fall was not really present here today was it was nearly 80 degrees. The leaves were still changing and it was gorgeous.
Jackson was loving our campus tour.
All of the sorority girls were dressed that same. This annoyed me. I kept doing a valley girl impression saying, "if you were jeggings and brown boots, I'll wear jeggings and brown boots and then when we put on our Greek t-shirts we'll like totally match and stuff!!" He was not impressed after about the 56th time that I did this little skit. Oops.
You cannot really tell in this photo, but Jackson was excited that these people were both IU and Vandy fans. I laughed.

We really enjoyed our day exploring Nashville. We went to the mall tonight and met some nice people. People are certainly more friendly here versus Indianapolis. We need to work on that, Indy.

Madison turns 11!

This evening we went to God's Country (Upland) to celebrate Madison's birthday. We had a great dinner and enjoyed spending some time with my parents. I took a ton of photos of the puppies since it was, after all, a puppy birthday party! ;)
Macy, Madison and MacKenzie
The birthday girl herself
MacKenzie visiting Grandma Duck
ACTION SHOT!
Where's MacKenzie?
Forget MacKenzie...where is the ball?!
Jackson needed to throw the ball this time
The worn out birthday girl
I wanted everyone to be able to hear what a "puppy party" sounds like... :)

We're FREEEEEE

We're FREE! The house is sold and we've closed. HOORAY!! HOORAY! I'll never own a home again. The selling process nearly killed me. Honestly.
MacKenzie had some trouble packing her toys. She had to go down to just one bin. I know. Things are rough for a little white dog.
Amber and Jon were kind enough to help us move into our storage unit. They're awesome. We love them. They're amazing. Get it?
We weren't sure that all of our things would fit in the storage unit but "years of playing Tetris" allowed Jackson to prevail. He was so proud.
We couldn't have gotten much more into that unit, though.
We're not comfortably settled in at Susie's. Where to next? Nobody knows...(well, God!)

We get around...

We had a busy week last week of trying out new (to us) restaurants with friends. First we went to Famous Dave's with Shaya & Bates and their (and our new) friends Lyle and Liz. The guys all shared a "trash lid" of assorted BBQ. We thought the place was pretty good!
The next night Jackson came to Muncie to see my office (finally. I've only been there since January!) and go to dinner with our friends Kort and Heinz. We went to a place called "Amazing Joe's" which is quite popular among the Muncie folks. It was pretty good!
These two crack us up. One day maybe Kort will just admit to herself that life would be more fun if she'd just marry Heinz so we could always double date. ;)
The next night (we were busy!) we went to Carmel to meet up with Amber and Jon at a wine bar that had offered a Groupon. We didn't love the restaurant but the company was great!
Jon is from Costa Rica so he keeps us entertained with how he thinks and feels about things. We really enjoyed our week of dinner dates...my diet didn't, thought! ;)

Halloween cuties

Oh my goodness! Is Alex not the cutest little Spiderman ever?
 I love the fake muscles.
Poor little guy had to get up early and wasn't happy...
Alex and Ms. Claire. Aren't they adorable?
 Too. Much. Cuteness.
Kylie and Alex ran into Gracie at "Trunk or Treat." What happened to my LITTLE girl? Gracie is a gorgeous young woman now. TEAR.
HA! I just love the little face he makes!
