A clunker...

Jackson headed to the airport via the "T" to get our rental car and I stayed back at the hotel with our luggage and blogged. It worked out well! We grabbed lunch to take on the road at my favorite little place, Cosi, before heading out of town. We went to York, Maine first but it was just packed and we decided to keep moving up the coast.
People with a small amount of beach
We drove along the coast for quite some time and each beach was extremely crowded and all of the parking cost $20 per day. Ugh. That was not the Maine we remembered! We decided to scrap the beach idea and go for a hike instead.

Look at that vast sea!
We hiked around the two lights area before making our way towards our hotel outside of Portland for the night. Then we stumbled upon Portland Head light.

Jackson looking lovely
The Portland Head area was amazing. The park around it was so gorgeous and we hiked around for about an hour just soaking in the beauty. From there we hit our hotel to clean up for dinner. Jackson wanted lobster, naturally.

Happy boy!
His dinner was delicious! I had a lobster bisque that was OK, but not amazing.

We want a boat!
We were staying close to the L.L. Bean headquarters which is open 24/7/365 so we stopped in after dinner.
Ohh bears carved into a tree
I've trained Jackson a little too well to take silly photos...
The big boot!
Getting kicked in the butt!
We enjoyed walking around the L.L. Bean campus and then retired for the night. The day was kind of a bust since we'd planned on hitting the beach, but that's OK. It happens!
