Acadia National Park

Jackson kicked off the day by checking email. LAME!
Captain Lame
We took the scenic route from Freeport to Bar Harbor. This was a mistake. It took FOREVER to get up here. We made it, though, and got to our hotel around noon.
The view from our resort
Lobster mac-n-cheese for lunch
We grabbed lunch before renting bikes to explore Acadia National Park. I saw an advertisement once that said it was an excellent place to cycle so we had to check it out. The ad was correct. It was amazing.
Jackson looking strong
We dismounted and climbed below a bridge early in the ride
The river was really moving!
Jackson wouldn't wear a helmet.
Off I go!
The scenery was lovely
The water was SO clear!
A quick check of the map
Listen, we thought we were in pretty good biking shape since we wheel around our neighborhood. We were wrong. We were sucking wind pretty early on. The climbs felt long and the descents felt short. It was incredible, though. I highly recommend exploring the park if you're ever in Maine!

After our insane ride (3.5 hours and too many to miles to count- ha!) we stopped into town for a quick dinner at a local pizza place. It was decent and I was just glad to eat something besides seafood.  We came back to our hotel to do laundry (hooray!) and go for an evening swim. It was lovely. I have a feeling we're going to be very sore from that ride for days to come!
