This girl was there to greet me. As were some amazing homemade chocolate chip cookies (can a girl not diet in peace?!). I fed Addie and even gave her some pets before heading to Marion to meet my Dad for dinner at Hong Kong- yum! I can't remember the last time I had a meal with just my Dad. It was nice to catch up. Hong Kong was just as good as I remembered. What I didn't remember was how to get there so I had to call Dad to ask. Whoops! I went back and forth with myself debating if forgetting the best route to places in Marion (my hometown) made me worldly or just dense. I decided not to answer that question. ;)
I made a quick stop in Matthews to pick up snorkeling gear from a former Navy SEAL friend for Jackson to use in Turks and Caicos before retiring to my Mom's cave (a bedroom with no windows- glorious, glorious, glorious!!!) with a snoring Addie for the night. I love Jackson but I also love sleeping by myself sometimes so I slept like I hadn't in weeks, so much so that my alarm puzzled me in the morning. I was like, "what is that annoying noise?!" For a good five minutes before I realized it meant I needed to get ready for work. Poop. I could have slept for a few more days, I mean hours. It was funny to commute from Upland to work since the only traffic I encountered on the country roads was a deer crossing the road. After work that day I stopped by the Eaton Vet Clinic to get Macy and Madison because they'd had their teeth cleaned and dropped them off in Upland just in time to see Mom and Guy as they arrived home.
When I arrived home MacKenzie had a few questions about where I'd been... Ha! ;)
