Kylie and Alex came up from Evansville and Aaron and Justin came down from Kokomo to join us at the Indy Zoo with Mom to celebrate Mother's Day. (It wasn't even 110 degrees like it usually is when Kylie plans a zoo outing!) I managed to get exactly ZERO photos of everyone at the zoo. Arg! I hate that! Justin is now
almost as tall as Aaron. It blows my mind. He cannot really be 16, right?! Alex is super cute and very FAST. He was busy the entire time.

Who doesn't love these guys?! |
Since it wasn't 100 degrees the animals were actually out which was fun.

Polar bears look friendly from this distance |

I love a good giraffe! |
We caught a dog show (yes, a dog show at the zoo) that was pretty cool. We watched the dolphins, of course. Well some of us did. One of the trainers was a cute girl so Aaron forgot there were dolphins around. Silly boy. ;) After a couple of hours at the zoo we had to get to dinner at Hollyhock Hill with Guy. It is kind of a nice restaurant and we went in with our zoo clothes on. I thought it was funny. :) We had a delicious meal and then
Jackson Alex was ready to play again. They headed outside while we finished up with dinner.

Let's climb this wall... |

then let's JUMP off! |
|
AGAIN!!!! |
|
Let's jump TOGETHER! |
Alex wasn't too sure of Uncle Jackson at first but by the time it was time to go home he was crying because he wanted to keep "playing in traffic with Uncle Jackson!" Yes, my husband did tell him they were going to play in traffic. No, I don't think that's normal. ;) Thanks for coming to Indy, everyone, it was a fun day!
Mom and Guy were taking us back to our car on the Northside when I wondered aloud how Heidi's diet was going (the dog). Since her home away from home (Aunt Jan's) wasn't far from the restaurant we stopped in to check on her progress. SHE IS LIKE A NEW PUPPY! She's lost all kinds of weight and has all kinds of energy now.
|
A little pep in her step |
|
Who is here?! |
We were so happy to see that she is doing well. We also decided that perhaps we needed to go to Aunt Jan's bootcamp to get those kind of results ourselves! Ha! ;) We hope all of our readers who are mothers had great days. I love you, Mom!
