Pacers playoffs

I got Jackson tickets to game 6 of the Pacers vs. Knicks playoff series for his birthday. Thankfully a game 6 was needed so on May 18th we headed downtown a little early to see what fun we could find before that evening's game.

It didn't take long for me to spot RIK SMITS signing autographs. I loved that dude back in the day so I demanded that we go get in line to meet him. We took a photo for the guy in front of us and were holding up the line so we didn't pose with the big guy. I did make him laugh and catch it on camera, though. The session was almost over and more people were in line. The organizer came up to tell Rik and Roger Brown (I wasn't familiar with him) that only 5 minutes were left before they needed to go. Rik looked up and said, "you better tell people so they don't wait in line and get mad when we have to go." A. I thought that was quite nice of him, thinking of fans and all. B. it made me laugh that this 7'4 guy was worried about anyone getting mad. I made a joke telling him, "I think you could stand up against anyone who gets angry" to which he chuckled and said I was probably right. :)

The game was a "gold out" so every chair had a t-shirt on it that you HAD (peer pressure) to put on. That was kind of neat (and likely hurt merchandise sales- I felt I needed to point that out).

This child, on top of being confused as to which teams were playing, seemingly had ants in his pants and was up and down constantly. He was so annoying because he was just tall enough when standing- and he never sat for more than 3 seconds- to block my view. Finally near the end of the game he tired and sat down. Collective sigh of relief that I didn't have to force him to sit down in the exciting 4th quarter. ;)

Boomer and the Power Pack are my favorite non-game entertainment. I'm like a little kid (minus the ants in my pants) when they're jumping from trampolines doing flips before dunking the ball. Love it!

I mean honestly, who doesn't love to see a mascot flying through the air?! The Pacers ended up with a win that evening and won the series. It was a great game and we had a ton of fun cheering them on to victory. Yes, we saw Spike Lee but no one could get close to him. Bummer.
