YES!!! |
Reporting season at work is always kind of a sprint marathon. From mid-December through early February things are just hectic! I'd had a particularly rough day one day- working late and just dealing with more fires than normal- and I came home to find the headphones I mentioned wanting only a few days prior. Jackson had, without even knowing of my particularly hard day, stopped and gotten them for me just because. What?! 9.5 years of marriage and he has figured out how to win me over. I felt so loved in that moment. What a sweet boy! I am excited to report that they're awesome and a great addition to my time at the gym!

Adorable. |
MacKenzie was home with us for a couple of weeks before getting to return to her friends Sherri, Lexi and Owen in Yorktown while we are in Puerto Rico. I dropped her off Thursday morning before work- it was fun to have her along on my commute! That dog adjusts to new situations better than any little puppy could ever be expected to and I just love her more than anything. The best part of her staying there is they send photo updates of her adventures which does this heart good!

We got an early start this morning with a 4 a.m. wake up call for our 6:30 a.m. flight but for the first time this winter travel season there were no weather issues to slow us down on our way to the airport so we had time to eat breakfast before taking off.

A breakfast hotdog?! |
We had a quick stop in Orlando before getting to San Juan around 1:30 their time (an hour ahead of EST).

The flights went smoothly and we are hopeful that the rest of trip will be great.

Jackson the savvy traveler, faking an illness to avoid a seatmate, ha!
I have to say, am I the only one who curses the gods every time I go to the airport because Cafe Patachou is outside security?! I love that place, and it's impossible to eat there without getting to the airport an extra hour early. And of course no one wants to stop to eat before heading home after a tiring trip. Why, oh why, is the best breakfast place in such a crappy location there? So I usually get an average bagel from Shapiro's, or this past time I got one of the prepackaged things with strawberries, cheese, a hard-boiled egg, half a bagel, and peanut butter. Which was satisfying but not delicious.
