Costa Maya

We got up early due to the captain announcing that, "Santa found the ship and was in the lobby!" Great. Thanks, pal. So we got dressed and headed to breakfast making sure that we skirted the lobby as to not see Santa. Ha! :)

Around 10:00 this morning we got to see land again. I was so relieved. Costa Maya was beautiful and warm; a lovely way to spend Christmas Day. I even sat at a bar and had wifi for a few glorious minutes. I simply did not realize how much I use my phone until it didn't work on the boat. Sigh!

It was such a gorgeous day! I'd never seen water that color. Amazing!

Jackson had TWO of these huge margaritas. It was how I was able
to get wifi at the bar so I made him keep drinking. ;):)

They had little lion cubs for people to hold. They were so cute but we didn't like them being trapped in a crib. Poor things.

There was a pool between the two bars and that's where we spent most of the morning, catching rays and swimming.

Then we moved down to the beach. I'd always wanted to sit under an umbrella made of palms so I was excited when people cleared out and we got a seat.

Ahh...it didn't disappoint me. Palm umbrellas are the way to go.

The beach was really rocky so I stayed on the sand while Jackson explored. Typical.

Our home away from home for the week. We came back on for lunch and I decided I'd like it a lot more if it was always that empty. The lines and crowds for everything is getting on my nerves.

And, of course, the towel animal. :) We cannot get over how kind the staff is on the ship. Our room is constantly maintained and I love that.

In usual Christmas fashion, our dinner wasn't good. We always seem to strike out on Christmas. We sat down to dinner and the menu didn't seem appealing at all. We ended up leaving the sit down restaurant and going to the buffet. We are kind of tired of the buffet, though. (I know. Cry me a river.) There was a chocolate fountain tonight, though, so it wasn't a total dining disaster.

Finally, we went to an acrobatic show that was awesome! The couple is Russian and used to be in the ballet there. It was so much fun to see all of their tricks.

We're pretty tired from being beach bums today and plan to beach it again tomorrow. Life is rough. ;)
