Honduras

We stopped in Honduras today and went on a "beach break" excursion. It was our only port where we had something planned and we are glad we did!

This was the massive crowd trying to sell you stuff as you got off the ship.

The drivers of these vans has no regard for people crossing the road. It was pretty scary.

Jackson trying to stay patient while waiting for our ride to the beach.

Random dogs wondered all over the island. It broke my heart.

This was their hospital. We were praying not to get sick.

There were little shops everywhere you looked, but none we well-kept.

The dirt and mud was unbelievable.

Coke had a major presence on the island.

One of the only parks on the island.

When we got to the beach it was cloudy so we decided to play in the water before trying to catch some rays.

Jackson was so excited to snorkel and loved it. I got about 1/2 way to the coral reef and had a full-blown panic attack. I'm talking couldn't breathe, couldn't move, panicked heartbeat. I was able to get myself back to shore but it took me a good 20 minutes to calm back down. I'm not sure if it was my fear of sharks, lack of swimming ability or that I'm just not meant to snorkeling but I certainly won't be going out again anytime soon.

The sun came out and turned our cloudy beach into paradise.

I still love the palm umbrellas.

Happy feet!

The monkey grabbing a drink of water.

Trying to talk monkey down...

Then the monkey moved to the hotel and started messing with stuff.

Scuba tanks? He tried to take one. It was a little heavy for him, though. ;)

He put on quite the show. Jackson got really close to him. I wasn't that brave because I was sure he was going to bite someone!

He was pretty curious.

He was also quite the gymnast. Look at that form!

And he stole a lighter!

And teased the girl he stole it from while sitting on the roof. He never did give it back. It was pretty funny!

We kayaked, snorkeled and hung out until it was time to come back
to our ship. We found a restaurant on the ship yesterday that serves traditional bar food. We were so hungry (we didn't eat at the beach for reasons I'm sure you can understand from the above photos) that we had dinner at like 4:30. It was so good.

We were pretty tired from all that sun so we just lounged around the boat decks and played with our iPads in the moonlight. It was really relaxing.

We came to our room and found this little guy so we knew it was time for bed. We had a fun day and hope that Jackson's sunburn clears up soon. (If he listened to his wife he wouldn't be burnt. She's just tanned. Just sayin')
